Man utd Vs. Spurs

Is there anyone out there still looking at this? I went to Fados today to watch the game...slightly depressing but the atmosphere was great.

I wasn't able to catch the game today but it's unfortunate we're getting off to such a slow start. We played well against Slavia Prague, although, I believe we're expected to win. Without Lennon and Berbatov, we looked good. Lennon's injury is a big blow to us. I also thought we looked much better than Man U. and Giggs' goal was a matter of right place/right time. We should have come away with a draw there. Rob -- How did we start last year, I know how Spurs finished? We all need to get together somewhere to watch a game soon.

UEFA Cup - Where to watch?

We're just 8 days from our European opener at Slavia Prague, and I was wondering if/where people are planning to watch this game. It will be televised on Setanta USA at 2pm. Unfortunatley, I don't get this channel, and the 2 oclock start means that I'll likely miss a significant part of the match because of school. In regards to the likely result, I think we may be in for some bunkering from Slavia, but hopefully we'll have enough quality to break them down. If we play like we did against Everton we may be in trouble. The new signings will give Jol some flexibility, and means the players won't be as fatigued after going up against Man United on the weekend.

Defoe's Brace and Manchester Away

Defoe's England career has been a strange one, full of highs and lows for the striker. Today he sent a strong message to both Jol and McClaren with his two well taken goals against the tiny country. It will be very intriguing to see how this effects our line up for the game coming up at Manchester United. With four top quality strikers in Mido, Berbatov, Keane and of course Defoe, Jol is going to have his work cut out keeping them all happy. I'd like to see Berbatov and Defoe starting with Keane playing in a free role right behind the front two, but I think its more likely we'll see both Defoe and Mido on the bench.

My starting line up:

Robinson
Chimbonda Dawson King YP Lee
Lennon Davids Tanio
Keane
Defoe Berbatov

Transfers

So what do you think of the new additions. I know that Chimbonda is supposed to be pretty good but as I am relatively new, I have not heard of Malbranque. I am really happy that Lee decided to stay, I think he's done quite well so far. With Lee staying, Chimbonda, and King coming back soon, hopefully our back line will be strengthened. I listen to a podcast, called World Soccer Daily, it's a great podcast, and if you are into that kind of thing you should download it. Anyway, one of the hosts said that he seems to recall Berbatov being able to be played as a midfielder, so with four strikers, maybe Jol will shift some positions. What do you think?

Mido

I can't believe Mido is coming back. This is a great move, except I feel that Defoe is going to be used to possibly pick up Stewart Downing. Boro wanted Lennon for Downing, but I can't see Spurs getting rid of their only winger. Defoe doesn't start and is quite talented, so I'm afraid he is going to be traded. What are your thoughts?
